Parent Communication - 18th March 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

This evening's briefing from Downing Street has been focused on Education and as a result the following recommendation has been made:

"After schools shut their gates from Friday afternoon, they will remain closed until further notice."

The Prime Minister and the Education Secretary have both indicated that support needs to be made for 'key workers' and 'vulnerable children.'

We will await the publication of the briefing tomorrow in order to clarify what is meant by 'key workers' and 'vulnerable children'.

Please continue to follow previous advice in relation to social distancing and where symptoms of COVID-19 are present [a cough or fever] you self isolate the household for a period of 14 days. Social distancing should continue until advised otherwise.

We will continue to update you via our Facebook page and our school website as we receive new information and advice.

Please look after yourselves.
If you or a member of your family show symptoms including a cough or a high temperature the government says for the whole family to stay at home for 14 days.

Dear parent/carers,

Please can we ask that you keep up to date with the government guidance on staying at home and self isolation for if you, or someone in the house display symptoms of a cough, or fever. Click here - Stay at home guidance

The guidance says that;

'If you live with others and you or one of them have symptoms of coronavirus, then all household members must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days. The 14-day period starts from the day when the first person in the house became ill'

Therefore children who are currently absent from school with a cough or a temperature should remain off school for a minimum of 14 days. If they have siblings in school, ALL children must remain at home.

If a child develops a cough or temperature in school, we will send them and siblings home immediately and they should stay at home for 14 days. The attendance for children who are absent from school with these symptoms will not be affected.

Work packs will be sent home with the children today as a precaution. If your child is currently off, work packs will be available from the main reception from Thursday, 19th March. We have also put a link on our website to education websites. Click here - Link to home learning websites

We thank you for your support and understanding in this challenging time. If you have any questions, please contact us on 01782235577.

Yours faithfully

Business and Operations Leader
